Home Learning & Online Resources

Learning doesn't stop at the classroom door.

At Norbury Manor Primary School, we encourage children to continue exploring, practising and enjoying their learning at home. This page brings together our online learning platforms, information about our Dip and Do approach to home learning, and useful resources for families.

Children are encouraged to read regularly, practise key skills and take advantage of the learning opportunities available through our online platforms.

Our Online Learning Platforms

Pupils have access to a range of online platforms to support learning at school and at home. Click on the links below to access each platform.

Need Help Getting Online?

We want all pupils to be able to access the digital resources they need for learning. If your family is experiencing difficulties accessing a suitable device or reliable internet connection at home, please speak to the school. We will discuss the support that may be available.

At Norbury Manor, our Dip and Do approach gives children opportunities to explore their learning beyond the classroom in creative and enjoyable ways.

Children are given a selection of activities linked to their learning and can choose which activities they would like to complete. Rather than relying on repetitive worksheets, Dip and Do encourages children to explore, create, investigate, practise and share.

Activities may involve researching a topic, creating artwork or a model, solving a problem, cooking, writing, exploring the local environment or completing an activity with family members.

There is no single way to complete a Dip and Do activity. Children might bring in a model, photograph, drawing, piece of writing, presentation or something completely different. We want children to take pride in their ideas and increasingly take responsibility for their own learning.

Families Can Join In Too

Parents and carers are welcome to talk about the activities, explore ideas together and join in where appropriate. However, Dip and Do should remain the child's learning. We value children's ideas, effort and independence much more than a perfectly finished product.
