Year 2 trip to Heaver Castle
On Friday 30th September, Year 2 visited Heaver Castle as part of their Literacy topic which is based around ‘George and the Dragon.’
During the day the children were able to go inside the castle and get a feel for what it would be like to be a knight or princess and live in a castle!
The children saw suits of armour, beautiful rooms full of unusual furniture and weapons that were used in wars. They were able to climb up stairs that were narrow and steep, they were able to view some beautiful paintings and even meet a queen!
There was so much for the children to see both inside and outside the castle. In the gardens the children were able to see statues, fountains, lakes and vine yards. They were able to see different types of plants, bushes and lots of different species of ducks!
It was a really enjoyable day for all the children, who learnt a lot from the experience!
The Year 2 team would also like to say a big thank you to all the volunteers who attended the trip.
