Who taught you to read?
Parents of Reception children were invited to a workshop to explore how they can support their child's reading progress.
Research undertaken by Literacy Matters states that over 80% of those surveyed believed that their parents taught them to read.
Studies also found that children who were reading to their parents improved their reading skills a great deal even if the parents could not read English or read at all in any language.
During the workshop, parents read to their children and explored Bug Club!
