Celebrating National Poetry Day at Norbury Manor Primary School

Norbury Manor Primary School was delighted to take part in National Poetry Day on Thursday 1st October 2026. Centred around the inspiring theme of "Wonder", our pupils engaged in a fantastic range of events and readings across the school.

Originally founded in 1994 by William Sieghart to promote the reading, writing, and sharing of poetry, the day offered many wonderful ways to take part. Children celebrated by enjoying their favourite poets as well as creating original poetic works of their own.

This uplifting event perfectly reflected our core school value of Creativity, helping our children to develop lively, enquiring minds and think for themselves through the joy of poetry.
