Attendance Update
It has been a busy few months since September 2018 with regards to attendance at Norbury Manor Primary.
Attendance talk for Reception parents.
In November we held an attendance talk for Reception parents led by Katie Beard, the school’s Educational Welfare Officer.
The talk allowed parents to meet with Katie, and covered topics such as what constitutes good attendance, what to do if your child is ill, holidays in term time, and legal implications of poor attendance.
The talk was well attended, and well received.
Parents found the talk and the question and answer session at the end of the meeting very informative.

On Friday 16th November 2018, China class went to the cinema to watch Hotel Transylvania 3 as a reward for winning best class attendance between 24/09/18 and 11/11/2018.
The class achieved an incredible 99.1% attendance for this period.
A fun time was had by all, children and adults alike!
I loved the film!
It was good that our class came to school the most - it helped us win!
Good attendance is important. If you miss school, you miss important work.
Best Class Attendance 12/11/18-16/01/19 – Brazil CLASS
On January 22nd 2019, Brazil class went to Pizza Express in Streatham to make pizzas.
They had won best class attendance between 12/11/18 and 16/01/19, with a winning percentage of 97.9%.
The class were able to learn about pizzas, make pizzas, and bring the pizzas back to school to enjoy for lunch! It was a very informative trip, and the children learnt all about what goes into making a pizza.
I learnt how pizzas are made.
I enjoyed being able to make my pizza. I love pepperoni on my pizza, but today we made cheese and tomato pizzas. I really liked it.
Attendance is really important in Year 6. If you miss even a day, you miss important work.
Sometimes I don’t feel like coming to school, but my mum says that missing school is not good. Once I get here, it is fun, and I realise that it is important to be here, especially as I have SATS and every moment of learning is important.
100% Attendance for September 2017 – July 2018.
On 31st January we held an ice cream sundae making afternoon for all our pupils who had achieved a fantastic 100% attendance for the last academic year.
Fifty-two children had managed to achieve that incredible achievement – they attended school EVERY DAY for a whole year, not missing a single session!
A big well done for all of them for that fantastic achievement.
