Norbury Manor Primary School

2026 Journey to Inclusion

On Tuesday 23rd June 2026, Norbury Manor Primary School proudly hosted our Extravaganza - The Journey to Inclusion to celebrate our remarkable achievements this year, including earning our Nurture UK Award, Eco flag, RESET Award, and Dyslexia Award.

We were honoured to welcome distinguished guests, including Civic Mayor Mohammed Islam, Croydon Council Director of Education Shelley Davies, Chair of the My Ends project Anthony King, local police representatives, as well as our Chair and Vice Chair of Governors. During the inspiring speech section, Arti Sharma (CEO of Nurture UK) alongside Katie McCann and Katy Dickson (Speech Therapists from Words First Ltd working on the Government's PINS project) spoke passionately about inclusive education. A true highlight was when one of our pupils movingly shared her personal story of learning British Sign Language (BSL) and her journey in Blossom House.

Guests were treated to wonderful performances by our school choir, dance group, and staff before taking guided tours led by our School Council. These tours showcased inclusion in action across daily lessons in Maths, Science, and Design Technology, alongside our Nurture provision, subject hubs, EAL provision, and Speech and Language provision. Visitors also saw pupil leadership firsthand through our Young Vets program.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, with special appreciation to the parents and carers who took the time to join us. By bringing our families, staff, and local partners together to ensure every child is supported to thrive, our school community proudly embodied our core value of Community.
